We are a full service physical therapy office in San Diego, CA.  What is unique about us, is that we have licensed physical therapists that are not only manual therapy specialists, but also Pilates instructors.  Many of our clients find this beneficial, as they can make the  transition from physical therapy to a Pilates fitness routine, as Pilates itself is inherently theraputic and rehabilitative. The therapists at San Diego Sports Medicine Physical Therapy integrate the science of physical therapy with the art of movement; combining manual therapy with Pilates principles. We achieve superior results by focusing on improving quality of movement to restore proper biomechanics to all of the joints of the body. We will work to correct the underlying causes of injuries to ensure long term results. We work as a team with our patients to educate them in individualized home programs and posture correction. We pride ourselves in the results of our integrated programs!

Pilates San Diego is a body conditioning routine that builds flexibility, muscle strength (making muscles lean and elongated, not “bulking up”), and endurance in the legs, abdominals, arms, his, and back.  It puts emphasis on spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing, and developing a strong core or center, and improving coordination and balance. Pilates San Diego system allows for different exercises to be modified in range of difficulty, from beginner to advanced.  Clients can proceed at their individual pace, and intensity can be increased over time as the body conditions and adapts to the exercises.
